How to keep food alive in a survival situation

The best way to preserve food in a long-term emergency is by drying it. Drying foods removes moisture which makes them last longer. It also inhibits the growth of bacteria.

Because dried fruits don't require much preparation, they are great for snacking in an emergency. They are portable and can be taken with you wherever you go.
