FAQ

Do I need to store guns?

Yes! Gun ownership is an amendment-protected right. However, it's important to remember that not everyone has the same right to own firearms. People with mental illnesses, for example, are not allowed to own guns.

It is possible to save lives by having a gun in your home. The CDC reports that there have been over 33,000 accidental shooting-related deaths between 1999 & 2016.

The good thing is that concealed weapons can be carried in most states. So, even if you aren't allowed to own a gun, you still have the option of carrying one around with you.

What do I need in order to prepare for my doomsday?

First, gather information about the area. What kind of natural disasters can happen in your region? Are there any significant risks?

If you live in a flood zone, you will want to think about purchasing a flood insurance policy. Flooding is one of the biggest threats to life during a crisis.

If you live along coastlines, you may want to purchase tsunami insurance. Underwater earthquakes cause tsunamis. They often occur without warning, so it's best to be prepared.

Next, consider how long you will be able to survive on your own. What is your ability to take care of yourself?

Is it possible to only be gone for a couple of days? Will you be away from your home for weeks, or months?

Are you planning on living alone? You will likely need a weapon if you live alone. It doesn't really matter what type of weapon you choose, such as a gun or bow and arrow. Just make sure you're comfortable using whatever tool you decide upon.

Other than weapons, tools like a shovel or axe, saw and hammer, nails, rope and other items are important. These are things that you could use to build shelters or create makeshift weapons.

Last but not least, make sure you have enough water and food. Make sure you have enough to last for several days.

This list is not exhaustive. You don't need to purchase all of the items. You should start at least.

What should I do with my survival gear?

It is best to keep your emergency survival gear near you so it is easily accessible in the event of an emergency. Your best place to store your survival gear is under your bed or in your closet.

Label your supplies with their contents and dates so that you can identify which ones have been used and which ones are still good.

Also, be sure to keep another copy of your inventory. If you lose your apartment or house, you will need proof you had the right stuff.

How can I begin survival preparation?

Start with an essential kit. It should contain basic supplies such as food, water or shelter. Then add items that help you stay safe and secure.

You might also consider adding a solar-powered radio, flashlight, compass, whistle, and map. Include fishing equipment if you live near rivers, lakes or streams.

A bug-out bag (BOO) is another great way to prepare for emergencies. A backpack containing essential gear. Some BOOs contain a tent, sleeping bags, firestarter, stove, pot, cookware, utensils, batteries, flashlights, first aid kits, toiletries, and more.

There are lots of options when it comes to preparing for disasters. These are the basic steps to start with and then expand it based on your specific situation.

What every doomsday prepper should have?

It's not about what you need, but also how much. You must learn to live off of the land if you want your survival for long periods.

You'll find that there are many ways to prepare yourself for an emergency situation. It doesn't have to be that you buy every item on the list. You must at least be able to identify where to begin when planning for disaster.

The most important thing to do is be ready for anything. You must be prepared for everything if you want to survive.

How To

How to preserve food during a crisis?

Drying food is the best way to preserve it in an emergency situation. Drying foods removes moisture which makes them last longer. It also reduces the possibility of bacteria growth.

Dried fruits are great for snacking on during an emergency because they don't require any preparation. They are lightweight and easy to take with you. You don't have to worry about weight gain.

While you can dry fruit at your home using a dehydrator and a sun oven, it's much more convenient to do so in a commercial setting. You can dry any kind of food in a solar oven.

Food preservation is best done by making sure it is airtight. This prevents oxygen from entering the container and spoiling the food. Preservatives are not necessary if the container is tightly sealed.

If you do decide to add preservatives, try adding salt first. Salt prevents mold growth. Then, follow that with vinegar. Vinegar kills harmful bacteria and prevents mold growth.

First, cut the food into small pieces. You can use a kitchen knife or scissors. Pack everything carefully so there is no air in the container

Place the food in a plastic bag. Cover the bag with plastic and let it dry somewhere warm.

Once the food is dry, you can store it in a sealed container. Take care not to let any food touch it.
